About Hatch
We are living in exciting times. New realities and technologies rapidly and radically change the way we live and work. Fast-paced digitalization increases our convenience, boosts our efficiency and rockets our productivity. It however also amplifies our dependency. In the new normality and comfort of our digital lives we tend to neglect our ability to think critically, act purposefully and connect meaningfully. Yet it’s these innate human capabilities you need in order to adapt and thrive through all the challenges the future will bring. That's why Hatch helps you cultivate your unique abilities that technology can’t replicate. During immersive learning experiences and real life experiments you train your creativity, curiosity, imagination, as well as empathy, human communication and resilience.
Hatch will have you future-proof in no time.

The theory behind Ditch The Distractions: Roanne van Voorst
Besides being the co-founder and Chief Science at Hatch, Roanne is a researcher, writer, journalist, training-developer and (Tedx)speaker. Her books and articles have been translated into different languages and are published internationally. As an ‘anthropologist of the future’, her core research focuses on what entails a sustainable, feasible and desirable future of our world. Roanne has conducted research all over the world, from Inuit villages in Greenland to the slums of Jakarta. In 2014, she obtained her PhD (with distinction) at the Amsterdam Institute of Social Science Research (AISSR). She has worked as a consultant for the Danish Institute of International Studies (DIIS) on a research project on the future of cities, and is currently affiliated to the International Institute of Social Studies. Roanne has developed several trainings on the basis of her research, amongst which the 'working on brainwaves methodology', which has been successfully tested and implemented for over 2 years. She is also a member of the Dutch Future Society and is frequently asked to share her foresights on the future on public events, such as the Lowlands festival (about the future of fun, creativity and friendship), TedXAmsterdam and Wageningen (on a sustainable future”) and on the yearly Futurist Dinner (the future of work and education).
Your Facilitator of Focus: Kim Durieux
As a Service Design Consultant at Accenture Interactive, Kim worked with the endless possibilities of the creative process on a daily basis. With an open mind and a genuine interest in people, she conducted qualitative research and facilitated countless creative workshops within large projects, to help corporates deliver actual value to both employees and consumers. After four incredible years, she got stung by the purpose-bee and decided it was time for change. With the creative processes of both Design Thinking and the Creative Problem Solving model as her second nature, she realised the power and value of it when applied to life itself. And as a fierce believer of the relevance of a creative and resilient mindset, she joined forces with Hatch.
